

Jerry passed away on Monday, March 2nd, 2026, after an extended illness.
Jerry was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on August 16th of 1940, to parents Claude and Emma Lawyer. He was the youngest of three boys. Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school, and toured the middle east on the Aircraft Carrier, USS Ranger. After serving his term he relocated to Florida with family, where he eventually retired from Equifax after many years of employment. Jerry was known for his love of animals, cooking, and his unwavering support for his favorite sports teams including Nascar, the Miami Marlins, and the Miami Dolphins. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing in the Everglades with his two son-in laws and bowled on a league for several years.
He is survived by his beloved wife and high school sweetheart, Lolita Lawyer (Dodie), his daughter Tonnie Saucier and her husband Rodney Saucier, and his daughter Terri Voisine and her husband Dana Voisine. Jerry also has four surviving grandkids, Clayton Voisine (with his wife Kerri) , Danielle Leung (with her husband Kevin), Ashlee Saucier, and Rodney Saucier Jr (with his wife Jasmin). Jerry leaves behind five great-grandkids—Annalise Saucier, Kacey Voisine, Austin Saucier, Hanna Voisine, and Stella Leung—each of whom brought immense happiness. Jerry has one surviving brother James Lawyer.
The immediate family will be having a private graveside service; fond memories and expressions of sympathy can be shared at www.forestlawnocala.com for the Lawyer family. Family requests no flowers, if desired a donation may be made to the Humane Society of Marion County in his name.
