John Franklin Hilton was born in Kershaw, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late John Thomas Hilton and Tressie Mae Catoe Hilton. Raised with strong values of hard work and devotion to family, he carried these principles with him throughout his life.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Ann Hilton of Ocala, Florida; his cherished daughter, Stavana Ellen Hilton Reed, and her husband, Byron D. Reed of Alliance, Nebraska; and his two beloved grandsons, Daniel C. Edmonston and Andrew T. Edmonston, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Faile, and brother-in-law, Foster Faile of Port Orange, Florida; his stepson, John A. Rogers of Dublin, Georgia; as well as many loving nieces and nephews who will forever hold his memory close.
He dedicated many years of service to Asplundh Tree Service before his retirement. Outside of his work, he found great happiness in the simple pleasures of life—tending to his yard, gardening, and spending peaceful days fishing. He especially treasured time spent with his family, and nothing brought him greater joy than being with his grandsons. A devoted sports fan, he also enjoyed watching football.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his five brothers, one sister, and his stepson, Richard Baker.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love of family, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
