Marion Eva Fournier, 96, formerly of Ocala FL passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 19, 2017. Marion was born July 9, 1921 in Hudson, New Hampshire to loving parents Albert Eaton & Eva Smith Eaton. Marion married Armand Fournier and they were together until his passing.
Marion was a wise woman; she was smart with her money – she had a phrase she’d tell those around her “never spend a dime unless you have a dollar” and always paid her own way by saving today for tomorrow. She was smart with her family – she knew the importance of family and spent her time with them as much as she was able to. She was an excellent mother and grandmother. She was smart with her friends – she and her two other friends that made up the ‘Three Musketeers’ were inseparable in life and took on many adventures together that enriched their lives.
Marion was active well into her twilight years. She drove until she was 90, and she was completely self-sufficient for quite some time after that as well. She volunteered with the Salvation Army for many years – she rang the bell for quite a few Christmas seasons. In her summers she’d attend Senior Camp; and she’d travel – by plane, or car – to visit family taking long trips to New Hampshire and even to Hawaii.
Even as her life on earth drew towards its close and her body began to decline, she was alert, aware, and blessed with a sense of humor. She gave those around her a brighter life, leaving them with a light they will carry forever in their minds and hearts.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two granddaughters.
Marion is survived by her two children, four grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
On October 24, 2017 her body was laid to rest next to her best friend. She however was in the next life, having a reunion with her parents, her siblings, her husband, and her granddaughters – all of whom came to receive her with open arms and warm hearts, eager to place her on the next part of the road of God’s Plan.
“And I realized when you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know.”
― Mitch Albom
