After Michael graduated from high school he joined the United States Air Force and served for eight years.
He worked for GTE Spacenet as a satellite controller. Michael moved to Ocala in 2014 from West Virginia.
Michael enjoyed working on his computer.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Julia K. Smith; children Tabitha Romano and William (Tiffany) Smith and two grandchildren, Maxwell Johnson and Patricio Romano.
