Rosario Nieves

Rosario Nieves, 76, of Caquas, Puerto Rico passed away peacefully on October 2, 2019 in Linwood NJ, with her daughter Camelia, by her side. Rosario was born to Maria Amelia Ruiz and Frank Llavat Cristy. Rosario, affectionately known as Charo or Rosa was a hairdresser by trade and owned a shop in New York City before moving to Hammonton NJ. Rosario worked at Presswell Records, Whitehall, and Graphlnk control where she met many friends who became family.

Rosario adored and cherished time spent with her family near or far, enjoyed vacationing and traveling (especially on cruise ships), a day at the beach, and of course, bingo. Rosario’s love for life, family, and friends was infectious. She touched everyone and made everyone feel like home. Everyone that met her loved her, as she was a kind, loving, warm, and generous woman. In addition, a great cook!

Rosario is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Maria; her beloved husband of 52 years, Luis, and brother Francois Llavat.

Rosario is survived by her three daughters Maria Luisa (Manny); Camelia (Walter); Michelle (Dennis); seven grandchildren Cynthia (Steven); Nicole (Przemek); Samantha; Stephen; Dennis; Jonathon; Anthony; great grandchildren Christopher; Adam; and baby Luca (arriving in a few weeks); Siblings Hortensia Vela; Marianita Llavat; Rosa de Los Angeles Llavat; Isabel Llavat; TiTi Esther; Cousins Margie; Martha; Elvira; and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 10:00am to 11:00 am on Monday, October 7th at Blessed Trinity Church located at 5 SE 17th Street, Ocala, FL 34471. A Mass will follow at 11:00AM, with burial at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 5740 South Pine Avenue, Ocala, FL 34480.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for all the love and support received during this delicate time. A special thanks to Serenity Hospice for the care and compassion they provided as they attended to my mother by treating her with love and respect.
