He was affectionately known as ‘Dirty Red’ to friends in both the motorcycle community and the Chicago Police Department. Both of which were invaluable parts of his life that he looked back on fondly. As a police officer he took great pride in upholding the tenets of courage, duty and respect and ensured he was an advocate for other officers and their families.
Sergio’s greatest passions in life were cars and motorcycles. He loved road trips, where he was content traveling the country with the wind in his hair and the breeze in his back. Whether on a solo trip or in a group, he knew how to take time to relax and just appreciate the experience of what felt like endless freedom.
His pride and joy were his two kids, Samantha and Jacob, who he loved deeply and found great pleasure in their accomplishments. He is survived by Jacob and his wife Yary, Samantha and her fiancé Emmanuel, and two amazing grandchildren Jayden and Isabella.
Sergio will be remembered as a man of a thousand stories and even more laughter. Whatever role he played in life: a father, a brother, a grandfather, an uncle, a cousin, a friend or even a neighbor, he left a large community who feel the loss of his presence. He leaves a legacy of humor, resilience, wisdom and adventurous courage that live on in each life he touched.
A funeral service will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, located at 5740 South Pine Ave, Ocala, FL 34480, United States. The service is scheduled for January 3, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
