

Barbara Gordon Rubin-Byer, beloved mother and grandmother, of Boca Raton, Florida. She was predeceased by her mother Helen Weiss, father Louis Gordon and brother Bruce Gordon, husband Saul Rubin and husband Charles Byer. She was a loving mother of Bari of Los Angeles, CA, Betsy of Vienna, VA, and Dean (Shannon) of Olympia, WA. Cherished grandmother of Spencer (Reyna) of Auburn, Alabama, and Jake (Karaline) of Evanston, Illinois and step-granddaughter Veronica. As a proud member of the Jewish community she was one of the original interviewers for the Stephen Spielberg Survivors of the Shoah (now USC Shoah Foundation) and an oral history interviewer for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. She frequently participated in its Next Generation program, sharing her commitment to remembrance and education with others. A sample of her amazing journalism can be found below.
