

Bella Weintraub (nee Jakubowicz), 101, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2025 in Tinton Falls, NJ. Born in Karlsruhe, Germany, Bella emigrated to the United States in 1938 at the age of 14. She was a patriotic American, politically astute, and voted in every election even at the age of 100.
Bella resided in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Tamarac, Florida. She moved to Seabrook Village in 2011 to be near her family. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Elaine, her husband David of 64 years, and all her siblings. She is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Jeff Newman (Ocean, NJ), her granddaughter Paige Newman (Dallas, Texas), as well as numerous nieces and nephews in the United States and Israel.
Bella was not only gifted with a long and remarkable life. She had a beautiful coloratura soprano voice, an artistic flair, a love of writing prose and poetry, and a keen intellect. Her harmonica playing was legendary as were her Rummy-Kub skills.
She will be missed by her family, near and far, and the many friends that she made at Seabrook Village.
Graveside services were held at United Hebrew Cemetery, Staten Island, NY, on March 6, 2025. A graveside service for Bella will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at United Hebrew Cemetery, 122 Arthur Kill Rd, New York, NY 10306.
