

Corynn Jan Warner passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2022, finally losing her long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Beloved wife of (almost) 65 years and best friend to the late Ira D. Warner. Loving mother to Lori and Amy and son-in laws, Gene Pinkos and Steve Kosowsky. Devoted Nana to Nina and Grace Kosowsky.
Corynn was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on November 14, 1931 to Ruth and Nathan Katz. Her father was the owner of Home Appliances in Freehold and her mother was a homemaker. Corynn graduated from Freehold High School and Adelphi University with a B.S. in education. She also received a professional diploma from the Ann Reno Institute of New York. She was a faculty member at the East Meadow School, Long Island.
Corynn married Ira Warner in 1954 and together they settled in Deal. She taught second grade at the Oakhurst Elementary School and while raising her daughters, Corynn continued to substitute teach and work in the library at Deal Elementary School. She also volunteered her time there as an active member of the PTA. Later, Corynn worked as a travel agent with Travel Concepts in Oakhurst.
Corynn was a devoted daughter, mother, and grandmother, and she always put others before herself. She will be remembered as a kind and loyal friend, wife, mother and a proud and loving grandmother who touched others with her grace, wit, and sweet, caring nature. She was a talented cook and baker and she enjoyed hosting holidays and gatherings with family and friends. Corynn loved traveling, long days at the beach with family and friends, and frequent visits to New York City. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
The Warner family would like to thank Dr. Joseph G. Boak, Jr., Dr. Marc E. Colmer, and the VNA Health Group Hospice nurses. The family’s deepest gratitude is reserved for Kim Crothers, Paula Gaspar, Jessie Harrington and Sandra Gontrant, for these caregivers are an everlasting inspiration to Corynn’s daughters for the exceptional care and devotion they gave to our mother.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Temple Beth Miriam, 180 Lincoln Avenue, Elberon, New Jersey. Interment will follow at Temple Beth Miriam Memorial Park, 2556 West Bangs Avenue, Neptune, assisted by the Bloomfield Cooper Funeral Home. All Covid protocols will be strictly adhered to for indoor service at Tempe Beth Miriam.
