He was a graduate of Tilden High School and Brooklyn College. He always had a special part of his heart in Brooklyn. (You can never take Brooklyn out of a Brooklyn Boy!!)
He spent many years working in the Garment Center, then in 1987 he started working at Sterling Sanitary Supply, in Woodside, NY, He later became a partner at Sterling in the early 1990’s, where he was still working at the time of his passing.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 49 years and 7 months, Helene Cohen Grodman, his most cherished daughter Lauren Grodman of Aberdeen New Jersey. His other surviving relatives are his brother Arnold Grodman and his wife Alice, Sister and Brother in Law Dr. Richard Meltzer and wife Linda. His nieces and nephews Pam and Mayer, Cynthia and Mark, Martin and Mikki, Lori and John, Peter and Jen and many great nieces and nephews. He loved them all.
Eddie was a friend to all, and once he became your friend, you were friends for life. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, as well as a devoted son, brother and Uncle. He had a passion for cars. When Lauren was a very young child every Saturday he took her to McDonalds for breakfast and then they went car Shopping (She enjoyed the trip to McDonalds more than the car shopping). He was the most personable human being that ever existed. He loved being around his family and friends.
