

Felice Kardos, 72, of Rumson, N.J., passed away at home on January 28. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on January 29 at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapel, 2150 Highway 35, Ocean, NJ.
Felice was well known for her kindness, warmth, and wit. She had tremendous enthusiasm for books, the arts, movies, and conversation. She was a lifelong learner and natural teacher. Above all, she was known for her loyalty to friends and her devotion to family.
Felice grew up in Brooklyn and Long Beach, N.Y. She graduated from Douglass College and received a Masters degree in English from New York University. She went on to teach English at Truman University in Missouri and later at the Hillel High School in Deal, N.J. She lived with her family in West Long Branch for two decades before moving to Sea Bright and later to Rumson. In the years since her retirement, she delighted in reading, writing, and spending time with her five grandsons.
Felice is survived by her lifelong love and husband of forty-nine years, Stephen Kardos; her daughter, Julie Kardos, and Julie’s husband Richard Diefes; her son, Michael Kardos, and Michael’s wife, Catherine Pierce; her grandsons, Jacob, Alex, Aaron, Samuel, and Wyatt; and her brother, Steven Rifkin, and his family.
