Harold (Theodore) Sher of Monmouth Beach, NJ
Born July 26 1927, in Tottenville section of Staten island New York died September 1 2012 at home.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Sher was a graduated from City College of New York with a degree in Electrical Engineering and from New Jersey College of Engineering with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He was the Founder and President of United Telecontrol Electronics Inc. of Ocean Township, NJ.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Ethel Falk Sher, his three loving children, daughter Susan Sher and Peter Scisco of Monmouth Beach, son Steven Sher and wife Stacey of Wayside NJ, and daughter Ellen Sher, MD and husband Philip Voorhees of Wayside, eight wonderful grandchildren Laura Martin, MD (Emily Shaw, MD), David Martin (Marisa McGuire), Alexandra Martin, Rachel and Alexis Sher, Danielle, Sara, and Kevin Voorhees, his brother Burton Sher and nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by brother Lester Sher.
Harold was a man of great integrity who treated all people with respect, fairness and without prejudice. He was generous, caring, loving and kind. Harold was a mentor to many and beloved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Monday September 3 at Bloomfield- Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean Township NJ. Shiva will be observed in Monmouth Beach Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Donations may be made in his memory to the Food Bank of Monmouth County or the charity of your choice.
