Harold Smith of Ocean Township, passed away on June 14, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was 84 years old. He is survived by his wife Sylvia and their beautiful family. Harold and Sylvia were married for 58 years and 11 months on the day he died. It was a truly wonderful marriage, with two devoted children, Jay and Amanda. Mandy and her husband Larry (Chodor) have two remarkable sons, Joshua and David, whom Poppa Harold loved dearly.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA and raised in Brooklyn, Harold was a good, loving, sweet and handsome man. He was a veteran and an entrepreneur and enjoyed all that life offered him. In his last years he endured the progressive dementia of Alzheimer’s with the same grace and sweetness that was the signature of his nature all of his life.
Services are Thursday June 16th at 11am at the Bloomfield Cooper Funeral Home, 2130 Hwy35, Ocean NJ. Shiva will be observed on Thursday from 3pm-5:30pm and Firday from 1pm-5pm at the Smith home in Ocean , NJ.
