

Howard l. Rose, 90, of Light House Point, Florida, formerly of Deal, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his two sons Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012 in Florida. Born in the Bronx, Howard was a graduate of Stuyvesant High School which he was very proud of. He served his country as a sergeant in the army air corps during World War II. Upon his discharge he began a long career in many businesses in NJ. He will be most remembered as the owner-operator of the Cypress Inn restaurant known as the shores foremost steak house from 1967 -1983 in Ocean NJ. He also partnered in the Cat's Pub, Loch Arbor and Water Witch, Highlands.
He was predeceased by his parents, Rose and Jacob Rosenthal, Bronx and sister, Cece Ancel, Florida in 2011. He is survived by his sons, Andy Rose, of Ocean, Richard Rose, of Maine; his cherished grandchildren, Jack and Hanna Rose; his nephew, Alan Bersek, of Florida; daughter-in-law, Stacey Rose; former wife, Joan Rose, of Delray, Florida.
Howard loved boating and fishing taking his buddies out until he was 89. He had his Captains license and was an active member of the United States power squadrons. He was also an inventor and has a patent with United States patent and trademark office.
Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 4 at 2:00pm at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Temple Beth Miriam Youth Group, 180 Lincoln Ave., Elberon NJ 07740.
