

Jack Saperstein, age 88, of Long Branch, NJ and Hallandale Beach FL, passed away peacefully on 8/12/24 at Monmouth Medical Center. Born in November 1935 in Somerville NJ, Jack was the son of Phillip and Tillie Saperstein.
Jack graduated from Upsala College with a bachelor’s degree in teaching and from Kean College with a master’s degree in accounting. He had a successful career in School Administration within the Newark NJ School System. “Scrappy Jack” Played Varsity basketball at Hillside High School. Jack's love of basketball was only surpassed by his affinity for horse racing. He was also known for being a tax preparer and teaching Real Estate to students for Certification. Jack served for 3 years in the Army National Guard.
Jack is survived by his wife, Gemma Saperstein, son Marc (Helene) Saperstein, daughter Debra Saperstein, brother Harvey (Linda) Saperstein, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Beatrice Saperstein and sister Doris Bloomfield.
A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday 8/14 in Kenilworth. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital
(www.stjude.org), in Jack’s memory.
The world has lost one of its brightest lights and I have lost my best friend, partner and husband of 15 years.

• Your compassion and strength inspired our grandkids to keep looking forward. We will carry on your incredibly positive legacy.
• When I had my most difficult health challenges, you were always there for me. Caring and helping to ease the pain of every process.
• Your ability to forgive and make amends as quickly as disagreements occurred, was the most beautiful trait you possessed.
• Thank you for all the laughter and joy you brought into our lives. We will always remember the good times.
• We may be separated now but your spirit will always be there to guide and inspire me.
• Your passing may bring tears to my eyes but the love you radiated will never fade away.
• Thank you for your love, your generosity and your trust. It was an honor to know you.
• I have so many beautiful memories of you that I treasure. They will stay with me forever.
