

A child of the depression and immigrant parents, Mr. Friedland was owner of David Friedland Painting Company in Elizabeth. He was a veteran of Work World II, serving in the 106th Division and fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. He was an avid golfer, and a lifelong fan of the New York Giants, but what he loved the most was his family. He was pre-deceased by his three beloved siblings, his sister Fay Cooper and older brothers, Abner and Frank Friedland. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Neysa Weitzner Friedland, children Karen Friedland Simon and Bruce Simon (Marlboro), Dale Friedland Daniels and Steven Daniels (Holmdel), grandchildren: Jeremy and Melissa Hisel-Simon, David and Shannon Simon, Aaron and Ellen Daniels, Noah and Anna Daniels, Dr. Sarah Daniels Cook and Dr. Kevin Cook, and great-grandchildren: Hank,Nora, and Elijah Simon, and Shayna and Maysie Daniels.
