Marshall P. Silver (known to some as “Pinny”) beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on February 14th, 2025, after courageously fighting a long illness. It was strangely fitting to lose him on a day of love, as he gave so much love to all who knew him.
Marshall graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received his M.D. from New York Medical College/Flower-Fifth Avenue Hospital. He went on to practice internal medicine for almost 50 years at Monmouth Medical Center and Jersey Shore University Medical Center. He was a captain in the U.S Army serving as a physician during the Vietnam war. He gave his patients all of the wisdom, care and attention he possibly could; they would often share with Marshall’s family what an outstanding physician he was. Marshall was known to all as a kind and selfless man who always put his family first. In his free time he loved to watch action movies, and no other fan could match the sound system he set up in his home.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy; daughters Aimee, Tami, and Stephanie (of blessed memory); son-in-law Adam Brandeis; and cherished grandchildren Drake, Jameson and Hudson Brandeis. The deep love Marshall felt for all of them will leave a hole in his family’s hearts. There was simply no one else like him.
A funeral services for Marshall will be held Monday, February 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean, NJ , followed by a committal service at Beth El Cemetery in Neptune, NJ.
