Michele, I don't know if you remember us, but we were close friends of your parents in Wayne, NJ many years ago.  I would see your father occasionally in Wayne in later years, but we had a frequent email correspondence, and he was a wonderful source of humor to pass on to others. 

 I only just learned of his death - I've been wondering why I hadn't heard from him, and thought it was because he was still displaced by Sandy.  I had written to inquire about his whereabouts and his health, and of course, got no reply.  

I send you our belated sympathy for your loss.  We were very fond of Marvin.  I also remember your brother, who worked for me one summer long ago.  You've had terrible losses in your life.  My heart goes out to you.  

May your father's memory be a blessing to you, and may your grief be assuaged by knowing how many friends he left behind.

I just found out about Marv's passing by googling his name. I had a feeling something was wrong as I hadn't heard from him since the end of November. My husband, brother and I met Marv on a tour of Spain, Portugal and Morrocco in 2006. He was such a delight to travel with. We exchanged email addresses and kept in constant contact via email and phone. We met him twice for lunch in NYC at Juniors and had some good laughs. I wish I had known earlie to offer my condolences to his family. He was a ray of sunshine to anyone who knew him.

We are so sorry to read of Marvin's death. My husband, also a stroke survivor, met Marvin online and they became online friends. We also talked with Marvin on the phone a couple times. We were concerned when we hadn't heard from him and even tried calling him. What a shock. Marvin was such a nice man, and we felt honored to have him as our friend. We will miss you, Marvin. Our feelings of loss for our dear, sweet friend Marvin, are great.  We'll treasure the memories of laughter and love, forever etched in our hearts.

It was 73 years ago that I and Marv met. He got here 3 minutes before I did. He was there waiting for me in the next bed; My mom died while giving me birth and Marv and I lost contact for awhile. At about age 6 or 8 I moved with a step parent to the Jackson street apartments, and low and behold, Marv and his family were my next door neighbors and his mom and dad cared for me most of the time while my step mother worked in a sweat shop. We were ALWAYS together through our teenage years. After graduation we joined the Air Force on the buddy plan. After basic traing Marv was shipped to Biloxi and I to Rantoul, Ill. we completed our tours of duty. Marv became an Electrical engineer and I a mechanical. Over the next many years he continued to work for the phone company and I joined the Marines and did 3 tours in Nam. After which, while single, I adopted and raised 5 children from one family who were all scattered around the two coasts. I now had a family of my own. I visited him at his lighting store in Wayne and met his then, family. But I lived in Idaho and visits were rare; but we kept the phone calls going. It was a few years ago that we became much closer via internet and phone calls. 2 summers ago we decided to close the gap on our life long friendship. Marv would come for two weeks to our house every summer and vacation with me and my lovely wife Linda. We traveled to Yellowstone, Jackson Hole and this year all the National Parks in  southern Utah. Great fun, great guy. We spent many hours sipping cocktails and talking into the the early hours about our lives together. I am so thankful for these many years of having Marv as a life long friend and I know he will be waiting for me and my Harley. A friend said the other day; that Marv went ahead first to greet the babies that left us a week ago. Marv is loved by all the latin friends he met here in Salt Lake and he will be sorely missed.
