Millie was born on September 2, 1937, to the late Anna and Morris Litwin, in Manhattan, New York. She is survived by her children, Deborah Desaulniers and Michael Schwartz. She also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Evan and Matthew.
Beyond her role as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Millie worked as an Executive Secretary at Bell Laboratories until her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed being with her family and led an active social life. After her husband, Stan, passed in 2012, she moved to Seabrook Retirement Community in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, actively participating in trips and clubs of interest. Not only did Seabrook provide Millie with an opportunity to socialize, it also provided the tiered care she needed as her Parkinson’s disease progressed.
Millie leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, which will continue to inspire family and friends alike. We are comforted knowing that she is no longer constrained by her illness.
There will be a Celebration of Life event for Millie in the Gardens Building at Seabrook Retirement Community, to be announced at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to support their mission to improve care and advance research toward a cure for Parkinson’s Disease.
