

Born in New York on December 17, 1929 and reared in Bradley Beach, NJ. He lived Wayside for many years before moving to Livingston to live with his daughter and granddaughters 5 years ago.
Mr. Blenden was an attorney with a private practice in Ocean for many years. He received his BS from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and his JD from Rutgers University School of Law.
Mr. Blenden was a longtime member of Congregation Beth Torah, Ocean.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sydell Blenden who died in 1993 and his brother Joel Blenden.
Surviving are his devoted daughter Audrey Shankman of Livingston and his adored granddaughters, Rachel and Shelby, with whom he lived, and who were the light of his life and provided extraordinary care during his lengthy illness. Mr. Blenden is also survived by a son Robert of Fairfield, and his children Zachary, Alexander and Elizabeth.
He was a man of great integrity, generosity, love, compassion, strength and wisdom, and will be sorely missed.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 1:00 from the Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapels, 2130 Route 35, Ocean, followed by interment at Agudith Achim Cemetery, Neptune. Shiva will be observed at his daughter’s home on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 6-9pm.
