Jackie Lee Aliff

Kopperston- Jackie L. Aliff, 85, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Raleigh General Hospital. Born June 21, 1929 in Oceana, WV, he was the son of the late Acy Aliff and India Short Aliff. Jackie owned and operated Aliff General Store for over fifty years. He was also a retired school bus driver, with over thirty years of service. Jackie was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Carolyn Shortridge Aliff; brothers, Lonnie and Johnny Aliff; and sisters, Virginia Morgan and Nancy Gunter. He was the last surviving member of his family. He is survived by two sons, Scott Aliff and wife, Toni of Milton and Kenneth Aliff and wife, Melanie of Oceana; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Tom Gunter. Funeral services will be 1pm, Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Walker and Rev. Ron Harvey officiating. Jackie will be laid to rest at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny. The family will receive friends from 11am until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
