

Charles Robert Palmer, 61, of Odessa passed away September 29, 2015 at his residence. He was born July 20, 1954 in Hobbs, New Mexico. Raised in Lovington, NM and Midland, TX he graduated from Midland Lee High School and went on to attend Texas Tech, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communications. With his degree, Chuck went on to work for KCRS and eventually became a Senior Account Executive where he has continued to work diligently for almost 40 years. Chuck also went on to marry and had two children that he deeply loved and supported. In addition to his career, he served faithfully as a Reserve Sheriff’s Officer for Ector County for 25 years as a way to give back to his community. Chuck was highly active in the Masonic Lodge where he ascended to become a Third Degree Master Mason. He was also active as a member of Bikers Against Child Abuse where he comforted many children facing difficult times, his biker name was Iceman. No matter where he was in life, Chuck always had a smile on his face and an ability to make everyone laugh, he never knew a stranger and was quick to call someone a friend. He leaves behind an enormous legacy and a set of shoes that can never be filled. He will be deeply missed by many.
He is survived by his son, Robert Palmer of Odessa, daughter and son-in-law, Chelsea and Steven Henderson of Killeen, sister, Joanne Palmer of Ruidoso, New Mexico, niece Brenda, Amarillo and his beloved grandchildren, MacKenzie and Alex Henderson.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday, October 2, 2015 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Asbury United Methodist Church with Russ Nebhut officiating.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home.
