Chester lived a full and varied life, holding many different jobs over the years and leaving an impression wherever he went. He was best known for his gift of storytelling, sharing humor, wisdom, and memories with those around him. His stories will be cherished and remembered by all who had the pleasure of listening.
A devoted member and supporter of River of Hope Christian Fellowship, Chester’s faith was an important part of his life, and he found great joy in his church community.
He is survived by his brother, J. W. Hollis and wife Dorothy of Odessa; his sister, Debbie Maddox and husband John of Cibolo; and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Chester was preceded in death by his mother, Wilda “Billie” Kendall-Stevens; his father, Woodrow “Buck” Hollis; and his brother, Jimmy Hollis.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Odessa Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, with Pastors Steve and Renee Phillips officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to River of Hope Christian Fellowship, 8730 Holiday Dr, Odessa, TX 79765 in Chester’s memory.
