

He was born September 16, 1932, to Luciano and Margaret (Bernard) Holguin in Imperial, TX. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, and later married Paula Flores on October 10, 1972, in Odessa. He was self-employed as a welder. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
His hobbies included fishing, and watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and Holy Name Society.
He loved his family and his Catholic religion. He loved making crosses with anything that he could come up with.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Elvira Holguin, and four brothers Wally, Gustavo, Luciano, and Chava Holguin.
He is survived by his wife Paula Holguin; son Oscar Cosme Holguin and wife, Sandra, all of Odessa; daughters Helen Maria Balerio and husband Alejandro of Corpus Christi, TX; Romelia “Romi” Scown and Fiancée Larry Rodriguez of Odessa; Donilia “Doni” Dotson and husband, Rusty of Friendswood, TX; and Elva Milton and husband, Eddie of Odessa; brothers Ramon Holguin and wife, Susie of Forsan, TX; Henry Holguin and wife, Betty of Odessa; and Fred Holguin and wife, Susie also of Forsan, TX; sisters Margaret Acosta and husband, Domingo of Imperial, TX; and Senada Aranda and husband, Phillip “Nedi” of Lovington, NM; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
