ODESSA — Donna Jean Maynard, 78, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015.

FUNERAL: Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Frank Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with David Newton officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Donna Jean Maynard, born July 5, 1937, in Grand Forks, North Dakota went to be with the Lord Friday, October 30, 2015. Donna will be remembered as a happy, loving and kindhearted spirit, demonstrated each day by the care and nurturing she provided to all those around her. She was a member of Crossroads Fellowship Church.

Donna grew up and spent her younger years in Iowa. She was provided the opportunity to live in other areas of the country as her family moved to follow her father’s career. She was a graduate of the University of Iowa, receiving a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in home economy, and made her profession teaching others home economy and planning meal services for school districts. She truly enjoyed social interaction with people and teaching others. Donna held other vocations throughout her life including substitute teaching and various administrative work, always with an eye to providing for others.

Donna met and married her husband Dewey Holt while she worked at Pioneer Natural Gas Company in Odessa and they were married 15 years until his passing in 1987. Following Dewey’s passing, Donna met and married a life companion in Ray Maynard. The Maynards were a happy and blissful couple, teasingly called the Tank-Top Twins by her family, and enjoyed sharing travels and experiences until Ray’s passing in March, 2014.

Donna was a faithful Texas sports fan and truly loved her Dallas Cowboys and supported them through good times and bad.

SURVIVORS: Donna leaves to cherish her memories, sons Robert Holt and wife Leigh of Arlington, TX; Brad Holt and wife Beverly of Grand Prairie, TX; daughter Debbie Otts and husband Jason of Rio Rancho, NM; Rodney Maynard and wife Karen of Irving, TX; Sidney Maynard and wife Verlena of Avant, OK; brother Edward Daasch and wife Mary of Roseville, CA. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Tara Holt and Whitney Holt; Jeremy Maynard and wife Shannon; Natalie Ashmore and husband Brent; Bethany Maynard and husband Dan; and great-grandchildren Shelby and Marcus Maynard; and other family and friends. Donna was a kind and caring soul and will be truly missed and loved.

She is preceded in death by her first husband Dewey Leon Holt; husband Carlton Ray Maynard; and parents Francis Joseph Daasch and Orpha Caroline Daasch.
