Ernestina Cordova Lara

Cordova Lara. Mrs. Lara at the age of 74 passed away Monday April 16, 2012 at Odessa Regional Medical Center surrounded

by her family, friends and loved ones. She was born September 24, 1937 in Shafter, Texas to Josefina White and Salvador

Cordova, Sr. Ernestina was united in marriage to the love of her life Humberto “Slim” Valdez Lara, Sr. on May 20, 1954 in

Odessa, Texas. She was the epitome of a devout Christian of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Lara is preceded in death by her parents,

brother, Salvador “Sonny” Cordova, Jr. and nephews, Salvador “Tatin” Hinojos, and “Arturo Edward Cordova. She is survived by

her beloved husband of 58 years Humberto “Slim” V. Lara, Sr, Daughters; Margie C. Lara of Odessa, Blanca L. Diaz and her

husband Joe of Round Rock, Tx., Liza Michelle Sturgeon and husband Jeremy of Jacksonville, Florida, and Son

Humberto “Boy” Lara, Jr. of Odessa, Texas, Sister, Enedina Cordova Hinojos of Odessa, Brother Arturo Cordova, and Sister-in-

law, Socorro Cordova of Odessa, Texas, 9 Grandsons, and 6 Great-Grandchildren. We the Lara Family would like to take this

time and express our utmost sincere gratitude to each and every one of you for all your prayers, floral and food, offerings and

especially your presence with us during this most difficult time. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to the ER &

CCU staff at Odessa Regional Hospital. The Lara family would like to especially thank Dr. J.B. Naidu, Irene, Candy, Christina

and his entire office staff for 30 years of friendship and special medical service. We would also like to thank Dr. Kodi, Dr. Dar,

& Dr. Reddy and their staff for their service and care. May God Bless You All Abundantly! Pallbearers her grandsons, Michael

Lara, Samuel Lara, Humberto Lara, III., Jonathan Sturgeon, Joseph Sturgeon, Joshua Sturgeon, son-in-law Jeremy Sturgeon,

and friend Troy A. Claxton. Honorary Pallbearers are her grandsons Roman Venegas, Royce Sturgeon, Jackson Sturgeon and

son-in-law Joe Diaz. A recitation of the holy rosary will be April 18,2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass

of Resurrection will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church with Rev. Mark

Woodruff officiating. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Odessa Funeral Home.
