She was born August 3, 1928, in Fort Wayne, IN. She was a Methodist and self-employed. She was known by Odessans as “Mom.”
She married our father Charles Boroff and left the small town of Convoy, OH, and moved to his family farm in Mercer County Ohio and learned to be a farm wife.
As a young girl she had always worked so hard and earned her own money, so on the farm her strong work ethic came into play. She instilled that ethic into her children. She taught us to work hard and always help others. She was never afraid to start over and try something new and she and Dad did just that with many business ventures.
She and Dad moved to Odessa during the boom in 1976, and opened The Depot Pizza and began a new adventure; a family venture which enabled us to fall in love with the people of Odessa. After the business was sold to the Johnson Family who own it still, she began a new adventure as a single woman and bought Williams Trailer Court. Everyone who ever worked for her or lives in her trailer park knew she was a force to be reckoned with! She was small but she was tough and stubborn and headstrong and never let anyone get the best of her.
Her love and generosity for her family and those who needed her knew no bounds. Her strength was an inspiration to everyone who had the pleasure to know her.
She fought and defeated breast cancer and fought with all her might against lung cancer, yet still left this earth on her terms, just like we all knew she would!
She is preceded in death by her parents Loren and Margaret Ann North and brother William Thomas North.
She is survived by her sons Steve Boroff and wife, TamaLu of Mendon, OH; Mark Boroff and wife, Mary Elizabeth of Cypress, TX; daughters Rosemary Lee Foreman; and Joy Lynne Brasuel and husband Arden, all of Odessa; sisters Jean Kinsey of Pompano, FL; Vivian Ruth Brown of Fort Wayne, IN; seven grandchildren Angela Wright, Tracy Lynne Carey, Justin Wesley Boroff, Jason Wayne Boroff, John Bradley Boroff, Dustin Charles Boroff and April Michelle Lorenz, thirteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
