Felicia Chavez, 34, of Odessa, Texas, passed away peacefully at Medical Center Hospital on November 27, 2025 at exactly 4:30 pm, surrounded by her loving family. She fought with extraordinary courage and unimaginable strength during her battle with cancer, holding on until her final breath. Her departure leaves a silence that can never be filled—but her radiant memory continues to light the way for everyone who knew and loved her.
Felicia was born on September 25, 1991, in Odessa, Texas, to her parents, Jaime Murguia and Jennifer Heredia. She was the eldest of three girls and shared a deep and beautiful bond with her younger sisters, Adelita Chavez and Lupita Murguia.
Felicia was a woman whose heart overflowed in everything she did. She began her career in the medical field as a CNA and caregiver, caring for the sick and elderly with gentleness, patience, and grace. That same compassion and work ethic later blossomed into entrepreneurship as she became a businesswoman and the proud owner of Divine Maid Cleaning. She built a company rooted in kindness and service, and led with a generosity that inspired her team. Even after moving on to new careers, many former employees continued to stay in touch with Felicia. In her final days, both current and past team members checked in regularly to offer love and support—a true reflection of the powerful impact she had on those around her.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. As a member of Getsemani Church in Odessa, Felicia lived out her beliefs not just in words, but in action. Her business partnered with the nonprofit Cleaning for a Reason to offer free cleanings to cancer patients, allowing her to bless others even while fighting her own battle. She was selfless, compassionate, and always quick to lend a hand or say a prayer for someone else in need.
Felicia found joy in life’s simplest, most meaningful moments. Whether it was decorating for a family gathering, singing with her beautiful voice, or just laughing with loved ones, she made every moment feel special. She had a gift for turning the ordinary into something extraordinary—using creativity, love, and a keen eye for detail to transform even the simplest things into something magical. Her bubbly personality lit up every room, and her childlike excitement over the little things could brighten even the darkest day. Her laughter was contagious. Her kindness, unmatched.
She was the heart and soul of her family. Felicia was the love of Martin Chavez’s life. Their story began when they were just 16 years old. From their first date on March 3, 2010, to their wedding on December 21, 2012, theirs was a love story built on faith, devotion, and a deep, abiding friendship. Together, they raised two amazing sons—Martin Chavez Jr. and Mark Chavez—her pride and joy, and her most treasured legacy.
Their love was grounded in faith and strengthened with a tradition they honored every night:
When both would say, “I love you.”
The other replied, “Always.”
Then came, “And forever.”
Followed by, “God willing.”
And finally, “In Jesus’ name.”
A ritual of love sealed with a kiss, a declaration of faith, and a promise that will live on forever in Martin’s heart.
Felicia is survived by her husband, Martin Chavez; their sons, Martin Chavez Jr. and Mark Chavez; her parents, Jaime Murguia and Jennifer Heredia; her sisters, Adelita Chavez and Lupita Murguia; and countless friends, extended family, church members, and loved ones who were blessed by her love and her light.
