Frances Aline Hagan was born in Tatum, New Mexico on November 9, 1944 to
the late Eula Ethel Hart and Henry Jefferson Hagan. She dropped out of 10th grade at Odessa High School to marry Floyd Coots on December 9, 1960 in Odessa; they were married for 56 years before his passing in January of 2017.
She was a dedicated wife & mother, and homemaker. She had several odd jobs, waiting tables was one of them, but moving with the oil field positions Floyd had following the oil patch, they didn’t stay in one place very long. They moved back and forth between Texas and Oklahoma, sometimes 3 times in the same year. They lived in a mobile home, and it was for sure. In 1974, they made the final move to Odessa and put down roots, next door to her parents in west Odessa.
Grandmommy loved to bowl, and should have gone pro. She coached youth bowling for 15 years, then dedicated 25+ years to the local bowling association, serving in a several leadership roles, she even worked at Sherwood Lanes for a time. After she stepped away from bowling, she took a position at the VFW, and worked all positions at Midnight bingo every weekend for 13 years supporting local organizations & veterans. Plus, she enjoyed gambling. She even worked as the receptionist at her daughter’s salon Shear Perfection for a couple of years. She picked up grandkids from school, while their parents worked and was a very devoted to her grand babies.
