Gerald Lee Smith

Gerald was born in Hoxie, Kansas on May 25th, 1934, to the late Vernie Allen Smith and Louisa Bell Smith. He graduated from Alton High School and continued to enroll in the United States Army. He Married Betty Smith September of 1977; they were married for 40+ years.

He worked as an aircraft sheet metal mechanic for the U.S military for 2 years as well as several other fields of employment outside the military including but not limited to oil field technician and plumbing. Gerald enjoyed watching NFL games on Sunday and religiously participated in viewing the price is right and let's make a deal. He was also actively involved in running a daycare in Odessa Texas and caring for his loving wife, Betty.

Gerald is survived by his youngest son, Todd Smith. His daughters-in-law, Marcela Smith, Melissa Rudloff, Jackie Rudloff and Mary Rudloff. His grandsons, Aidan and Dylan Smith, Kenneth Little, and Brian Rudloff. His granddaughters, Carolyn Chesney, Velinda Burton, Ladonna Morgan, Rhonda Rudloff, Amanda Rudloff, Shahala Menzie, Carolyn Turk. His 2 stepsons, Ronald Rudloff and Michael Rudloff.

Gerald is preceded in death by his wife Betty, stepson Gary Rudloff and grandson Gary Rudloff Jr.

A visitation for Gerald will be held Friday, June 27, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, 601 North Alleghaney, Odessa, TX 79761. A graveside service will occur Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 6801 E, Odessa, TX 79762.
