“A woman of valor who can find? For her price is far above rubies… “ Proverbs 31:10
Heaven gained such a woman December 4, 2012, when Gina Wilkerson Schippers passed away following a brave battle with cancer. Gina left this life at 4:05am, surrounded by loved ones.
Gina was born March 5, 1968 in Brownwood, TX to Johnny & Carolyn (Bennett) Wilkerson. She was comptroller for Two Rivers Pipeline.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Joe Schippers, and two children she adored—daughter Kayli Bowington (wife of Nick Bowington), and son Bradley Martell. Gina also leaves behind best friend Angie Roberts, as well as her mother Carolyn Wilkerson, three siblings, Clay Wilkerson, Reda Sowell (wife of Richard Sowell), and Johna Straw (wife of Scot Straw) and their families, as well as a slew of nieces, nephews and many friends who loved her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her father, Johnny Wilkerson, grandparents, Ray & Doris Shinn.
Gina loved ferociously, gave generously, worked passionately, and lived her whole life with a sweetness of spirit that was simply contagious. She brought joy to everyone around her, which we will all carry with us in the years to come as we strive to live with valor as she did.
There will be a visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Services for Gina will be held at the Eisenhower church of Christ at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 with Allen Weakland officiating. Graveside services will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
