Hortencia was born in Las Cruces y Anexas, Chih., Mex, on May 24, 1942. To the late Timoteo Lara and Susana Tercero. She married Jose Israel Lujan in Ojinaga Chih in 1960. They had 6 children
Mom may have been taken from us too soon, however her spirit will always live on in the memories we cherish and the love we shared. Her laughter, mischievous spirit and unconditional love touched many lives. She found joy in her plants, her birds, her turtles and vacation trips to San Antonio TX, but most of all, she cherished the times spent with loved ones.
Hortencia is survived by her longtime companion Concepcion Ibarra, her children Maricela and Willie Ramirez, Rosa Kaiser, Jose Jr and Guadalupe Lujan, Mireya and Richard Gomez, Victor and Banessa Lujan and Tanja Ortiz. Her sisters, Amy and Fred Rivera, Maria Munguia, Imelda Kondratick , Martha and Joe Almaguer and Mary Ann Lara. 25 Grandchildren, 27 Great-Grandchildren and numerous family and friends.
Hortencia is preceded in death by her parents Timoteo Lara, Susana and Abel Silva. Her son Juan Omar Lujan and, Carl Kaiser. Her brother, Erasmo Lara.
A visitation for Hortencia will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Odessa Funeral Home, 1700 N Jackson Ave, Odessa, Texas 79761. A rosary will occur at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Odessa, Texas. following burial at American Heritage Cemetery, 4100 FM 1788, Midland, Texas 79707.
With hearts full of gratitude, we thank everyone for their unwavering prayers and support during this difficult period. We LOVE each and every one of you. May GOD’s blessing be with us all ALWAYS!!
