Jesus F. Olivas, 76 passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in Odessa, Texas. Born to Jesus and Consuelo Olivas on June 12, 1942.
He grew up in Odessa, Texas and also lived in Lamar, Colorado for a short period of time. He was married to Mercedes Olivas for 56 years. They raised three beautiful sons together; David, Jerome and James. The majority of his life was spent in Odessa doing all the things that he loved. One of the things that Jesus would always do was just tell you how it is...life, children, or anything in general. He loved working in the yard, spending time in his special "Man Cave". Family meant a lot to Jesus.
Jesus is survived by his wife, Mercedes Olivas and son, Jerome Olivas (wife Rosa) of Duenweg, MO. Brothers, Manuel Olivas (wife Luisa), Albert Olivas (wife Julie); Grandchildren: Erica Olivas, Lubbock, TX, Candice Olivas, Burleson, TX, Catherine Abney (Kris), Hobbs, NM, Jakob Olivas, Euless, TX. Great grandchildren: Addison, Taylor, Hayden, and Danilynn Abney all of Hobbs, NM and Nicolas Parker, Lubbock, TX.
Jesus was preceded in death by his son: David E. Olivas and James A Olivas. His parents Jesus L. and Consuelo Olivas, brother Oscar Olivas, and two sisters Connie Olivas Herrera and Catalina Olivas.
Rosary will be said on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers: Johnny Ramos, Antonio Herrera, Louie Torrez, Scott Abney, Manuel Olivas, Jr., and Robert Olivas, II.
