

John Robert Bock, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, on his 98th birthday, surrounded by his two sons and grandsons. Born on March 14, 1927, John lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family.
John was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Betty Sue Barton Bock, with whom he shared a remarkable 60 years of marriage. Together, they built a life rich with memories, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.
He is survived by his two sons, Robert Wayne Bock (wife Mindy) and Charles Barton Bock, who carry forward his legacy of love and strength. John's spirit will also live on through his cherished grandchildren: Rob Wiley, Marc Wiley, and Erin Dawn Potter. He was a proud great-grandfather to Kaden and Keenin Potter, Kristen Martinez (husband PJ), Marcus Wiley, and Elizabeth Wiley, and a delighted great-great-grandfather to Wiley and Mila Martinez.
Born to Winford and Mary Bock, who were farmers in southwest Oklahoma, John learned the values of hard work and resilience from an early age. In 1956, he and Betty moved to Odessa, where he began his distinguished career in the oilfield with Halliburton. He later served with the Odessa Police Department and concluded his professional journey with Rexall Petroleum Chemical, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
John was known for his unwavering commitment to family, his deep love for MOJO, and his engaging sense of humor that could light up a room. His laughter and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
