Johnnie Davis

Johnnie Nell Davis was born November 26, 1928 in Big Spring, TX to Wiley Henry and Hattie Burgin. She was the youngest of five girls and quite the spit fire. She married James Darrell (JD) Davis on December 21, 1946. She was a housewife and seamstress, making beautiful drapes for those fortunate enough to buy them. She was an avid fisherwoman and the family joke is that her mounted fish were bigger than her husband’s. Johnnie loved to work in her yard and bowl. She was on multiple leagues until her COPD made it too hard to get up and move early enough to bowl any longer. Johnnie and JD had three children.

She is survived by her son Darry Davis and his wife Teresa Davis of Cedar Park, TX. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Cheree Shepardson of Odessa, Darrell Shepardson of Odessa, Tracy Johnson of Leander and Matthew Davis of Leander; five great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, her Son Karry Davis of Dallas and her daughter Tandra Bulkeley of Odessa. Mrs. Davis passed away at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa on Monday October 19, 2015, and will be buried in the Rosehill addition of the Ector County Cemetery on Thursday October 22, 2015 at 10:00am
