

Jose "Locogoat" Rodriguez was born on May 24, 1965 to the late Salvador and Maria Tapia Rodriguez in CD, Juarez Chihuahua, Mexico. Salvador moved his family to Odessa in 1978 to give their family a better life and more opportunities. Jose graduated from Odessa High School then attended Odessa College where he received his Associate Degree in Engineering.
Jose married Tina Rodriguez on May of 1986 in Odessa TX. Where they were married for 19 years, then divorced in October of 2005.
Jose started working for Landgraf, Crutcher and Associates; before he finished high school where he worked as a part time draftsman then later, he received his degree and from then on Started working for LCA as a full time employee. Jose received many achievements throughout the years. Where he became the Senior Autocad Designer. He even became Company Stockholder for LCA and worked in the company for 35 years. John Landgraf and Drew Crutcher were more than business partners and were more like family as well as everyone at LCA.
Jose had many interests, anyone who knew Jose knew he was one of a kind. He was very strong willed yet kind. He loved to play-around with anyone he met. If he liked you, you knew he was going to give you a hard time, but yet if you needed anything, he would be the first one there. Jose loved to goof around with his children and grandchildren the most. Since the first time he visited Tombstone AZ with his family he fell in love with it. He really enjoyed the old western atmosphere, he watched the movie Tombstone well over a thousand times and even collected souvenirs. Jose enjoyed working on lowriders especially working with hydraulics, hints the name 'Locogoat' his very first competition hopper. Later in years Jose took interest in firearms, which led to him receiving his license to carry. He was a true Dallas Cowboys fan. These are only a few of his hobbies but he had many more.
Preceding him in death were his parents Salvador and Maria Tapia Rodriguez.
He leaves to cherish his memories are his children, Jose A Rodriguez II and wife, Jessica Rodriguez, Crystal Rodriguez and Eva Rodriguez; grandchildren, Jose A Rodriguez Ill, Evelyn Rodriguez, Jayden Rodriguez, Navaeh Rodriguez, Heavan Rodriguez, Zyra Rodriguez, Zaydri Rodriguez, Zayden Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, Xavier, Josiah Arturo, Tonio Ill, Cecelia; brother, Salvador Rodriguez Jr.; sisters, Lorena Rodriguez, Marisela Rodriguez, Claudia Granados; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
A visitation for Locogoat will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, 601 North Alleghaney, Odessa, TX 79761, with a rosary at 7pm. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 2633 Conover Ave, Odessa, TX 79763 with committal service and burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 6801 E I-20BL, Odessa, TX 79762.
