

Lloyd Lyle McClellan, known to most as “Catfish”, passed away on August 22, 2013. He was 90 years old, born on November 22, 1922 in Humboldt, Kansas. He was the youngest child of James B. McClellan with an older brother James and two sisters, Ina and Ruth. Lloyd served with distinction in the Army Air Corp during WWII, flying as a tail gunner in B26 bombers out of North Africa with 63 combat missions. He received numerous awards including multiple Air Combat medals. He was one of the original employees at the El Paso Products plant and retired there in 1979 as plant supervisor. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, North American Hunters Club, Handy Man of America, Good Sam’s Club, American Legion, and Sherwood Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James B. & Minnie McClellan, his wife, Leona (Smith) McClellan, brother, James E. McClellan & sisters, Ina and Ruth. He is survived by his eldest son, James B. McClellan of Friendswood, TX, youngest son, Glenn E. McClellan of Georgetown, TX, and step-children, James Dewayne Jennings & wife Norma of Jal, NM and Gloria Kay Anderson of Chandler, AZ, (8) grandchildren, and step-grandchildren,& (11) great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Mark Wilson officiating. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
