She married Adan O. Garcia in Pecos on November 6, 1954. They remained in Pecos to raise their family. Throughout the years, Manuela worked at a nursing home, then as a seamstress, a housekeeper at the Holiday Inn in Pecos, but then took on her most important role as homemaker and caregiver to her family. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Manuela is survived by her sons: Adan Garcia, Jr. and wife Maria of Huntsville, Saul Garcia of Odessa, Joel Garcia and wife Martha of Birmingham, AL, and Raul Garcia and wife Isela of Pecos; daughters: Shirley Rivera of Pecos, and Patricia DeAnda and husband Lorenzo of Odessa; brother: Gregorio Belarde; sisters: Solidad Belarde, Antonia Llanes, Eloteria Sanchez, Guadalupe Orta, Consuelo Vasquez, Sanjuana Belarde, Cecilia Serrano, and Aurora Nevarez; stepmother, Soledad Belarde; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Adan O. Garcia; parents; brother, Mariano Zapata; and sister, Rafaela B. Herrera.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2020 from 2-6 PM and Monday, June 22, 2020 from 9 AM-9 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with the Rosary beginning at 7 PM Monday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 10 AM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Raul Garcia, Jr., James E. Garcia, Devan Salas, Timothy DeAnda, Lorenzo DeAnda, Jr., Adam Garcia, Billy Ray Garcia, and Xavier Rivera, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
