

McKinley “ Stick” Golden, was born on September 1, 1924 to Hembry and Jannie Flippen Golden. McKinley grew up in Anson, TX and attended Fred Douglas public school . He received Christ at an early age and united with the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After an honorable discharge he entered into Holy matrimony with Luberta Cravens on March 12, 1949. Four children were added to this union: McKinley Jr. , Donald Ray, Charles Edward, and Brenda Joyce.
In subsequent years McKinley worked in various trades and owned numerous businesses; most recently,” Sticks Tire Service” until an industrial accident occurred in 1986 which forced him into retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, VFW, and Disabled Veterans.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hembry and Jannie Golden, two sisters; Louiza and Alice, and two sons; McKinley Jr. and Charles Edward.
He is survived by wife Luberta, son Donald Ray and wife Stephanie of Seattle, WA, daughter Brenda Joyce and companion Glenn Gadison of Odessa. He also leaves his grandchildren, Shenitrice Lynette, Lester Tremelle, Trenna LaShon, Richlynn Monique, Carla Denene, Kimberly Latrice, Gary, and Jessica June, as well as 23 great-grandchildren, and 10 great- great- grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, and extended family such as Hence and Pat Barrow & family and many many friends.
McKinley loved all people and was truly loved by all that were fortunate enough to meet and know him.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 31, 2011 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
A celebration of his life will be on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 11:00 am at Living Vision Ministries Church, 525 S. Grandview with Rev. Andrew Nance officiating.
