Melissa Gay Murphree Burleson

Melissa Gay Burleson, 49, of Odessa passed away Monday, November 22, 2010 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born March 4, 1961 in Ft. Worth, TX to Dixie Gene & Melba (Robertson) Murphree. She was a teacher at Peace Elementary School. She married Randy Burleson May 1, 1982.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Randy Burleson of Odessa, her father, Dixie Murphree of Odessa, sisters, Pam Williams & husband Smokey of Irran, TX, Cindy Trantham & husband Terry of Burleson, TX, (6) grandchildren, Matt, Chris, Dee Anna, Eric, Kathryn, & Jonathan. & nieces & nephews, Teresa Conley & husband Frank of Westbrook, Bo Williams & wife Jackie of Midland, Tanner Willliaims of Iraan, & Dayne Trantham of Burleson, numerous great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins & a multitude of friends & beloved students.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Melba Murphree & brother Joe Murphree.

There will be visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 26, 2010 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Trantham officiating. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Vera Cemetery in Vera, TX.
