Otha Dennis Beadles

Otha (Dennis) Beadles, 77, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born October 23, 1934 in Dike, TX to Steve & Etta (Dendy) Beadles. He graduated from Brownfield High School and attended South Plains Community College. He married Barbara Hodges December 22, 1956 in Brownfield. He served in the U.S. Army. He retired from OXY 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Beadles of Odessa, daughter Kay Wright & husband Michael of Edmond, OK, son, Steve Beadles & wife Donna of Townsend, Ontario, brothers, Bobby Beadles & wife Betty of Bowie, TX, Frankie Beadles & wife Judy of Lubbock, Larry Beadles & wife Barbara of Levelland, sister, Maxine Moore & husband Joe of Denton, (7) grandchildren, Nathan Wright & wife Kristi, Jeanna Wright, Jason Wright & wife Kami, Lisa & Brad Hiseler, Emily & Stephanie Beadles, and (2) great-grandchildren, Asher & Kayden Wright.

Dennis was an avid reader and known for his storytelling and sense of humor. He also enjoyed working with computers. He was a long time teacher of the XYZ (Extra Years of Zeal) Class at Immanuel Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon.

There will be a visitation from 7 to 9 pm Friday, February 24, 2012 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
