Robert Joseph Hand Sr.

Robert Joseph (Bob) Hand, Sr, 91, of Flower Mound, TX passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in Flower Mound. He was born April 19, 1919 in Crosby County, TX. He married Mary Lou Reed on March 9, 1946. He graduated from Pasadena High School & Texas A&M University in 1950. He served in the U.S Army in the 7th Calvary during WWII, receiving the Silver Star & Purple Heart. He was a Petroleum Engineer for Chevron . He was a member of St. Phillip’s Catholic Church in Flower Mound and a former member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Midland.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Kalenak and his brother, Freddy Hand.

He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Hand of Flower Mound, Sons, Robert J. Hand JR & wife Becky, Patrick Hand & wife Cindy, Michael Hand & Teresa Wagner, daughters, Mary Ann Lewis & husband Devon, Debby Wells & husband Kevin, brothers, Russell, Lawrence, David Lee & Ronald Hand, (11) grandchildren, and (10) great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2011 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Midland. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Monsignor James Bridges and Monsignor Larry Droll officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.

The family requests Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN.
