Ronald Lee (Ronnie) Dickson

Ronnie Dickson, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend lost his battle with cancer on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 4:30 am at Medical Center Hospital.

Ronnie was born in Los Angeles, CA by his parents, Claude and Ruby Dickson, who preceded him in death, they moved to Crane, TX shortly after his birth.

Ronnie graduated from Crane High School and served his country in the US Navy on the USS Oriskany in the Vietnam War. After his service he worked for Delta Airlines in Dallas, TX for a short time before moving back to West Texas where he was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company in Goldsmith, TX.

Ronnie is survived by his daughter Susan Dickson of Odessa, son Chris Dickson and his wife Trenna Dickson of Odessa, grandson Christopher Dickson Jr and wife Alicia of Odessa, (3) granddaughters, Christina and Kelsey Dickson of Odessa, Sara Mohowitsch of Odessa, (3) great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents Claude and Ruby Dickson and brother Clyde Dickson.

Ronnie loved to make people laugh, he never met a stranger. He loved John Wayne, Minnesota Vikings, Boston Patriots and the UT Longhorns. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 10am Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the American Heritage Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
