

She was born Rosa Lee Samsel in Karnes City, Texas August 18, 1926, to Friedrich Wilhelm and Ella Anna Schulz Samsel.
Rosalie grew up on farms in the Karnes City area where she was confirmed in the Lutheran Church and later baptized at First Baptist Church in Tahoka. She married Alvin Anderson Burnett January 19, 1944, in Karnes City. After marriage she moved to Lubbock, TX, where she began her long career of working in and then managing grocery stores in Lubbock, Tahoka, and Odessa.
Rosalie is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Friedrich Jr., Allen and Walter Samsel; and sister Linda Beverly.
Rosalie is survived by daughter, Jackie Cason and husband Allen of Odessa, grandson Todd Cason and wife Gail of Amarillo, granddaughter Leigh Ann Cates and husband Rick of Sugar Land, great-grandsons Magnum and Maveric Cates of Sugar Land and several special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 17, 2016.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at 10am at St. Paul’s Lutheran, 408 S. Davidson, Karnes City, TX, with Allen Cason officiating. Burial will follow in New Bremen Cemetery, Karnes City, TX.
Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
