Roy Lee Dunn

Roy was born in Thiel, Arkansas on December 4, 1928 to the late Robert and Vida Dunn. He graduated from Borger high School and continued on to receive a bachelors degree of science from West Texas College (now West Texas A&M) and a masters in education from Sul Ross University. He married Clessie M Murrell on April 15, 1954. They were married for 63 years.

He worked as a coach, teacher, counselor and administrator for more than three decades. Roy enjoyed watching all sports playing golf and attending his grandchildren games. He was also actively involved in the American Legion.

Roy is survived by his sister Alice Ott; daughter, Leah Blalock; son, Roy Frank Dunn and wife, Donna; grandsons, David, Blalock and Wife, Jen Lawless, Lucas Weeden and wife, Mindy, Landon Weeden and wife, Kayla; granddaughter, Peyton Dunn; great grandson, Tracyn Weeden; and great granddaughters, Palmer Weeden and Brooklyn Weeden.

Roy is preceded in death by his wife, Clessie; parents, brothers, Bobby, Dunn, and Jimmy Dunn; daughter, Lori Weeden; and son-in-law, Les Blalock.

In Lieu of flowers, a family wishes you to consider making a memorial donation and Roy‘s honor to the American Legion of Odessa or charity of your choice.

A graveside service for Roy will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 6801 E I-20 Business Loop, Odessa, Texas 79762.
