Sherry L Baker

She was born May 15, 1936 at Burkburnett, Texas to Virgil A. Hughes and Helen Williamson Hughes. She was a resident of Odessa since 1953 and a member of Second Baptist Church since 1953. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1954 and Odessa College in 1956.

Sherry married Robert L. “Bob” Baker on August 31, 1956 at Second Baptist Church by Rev. Richard Philpot and they were marred for 43 years. She was preceded in death by husband, Bob Baker, sons, Terry Scott and Lynn Baker and Parents, Virgil and Helen Hughes,

She is survived by children, daughter, Janice Bullock and husband Bernardo Ramos, daughter Jennifer Cobos and husband Jr., all of Odessa. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Melissa, Staci, Terry, Cassie, Taylor, Kali, Blaine, and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Reba Baker and Husband Oakley, Dianne Warden and husband James, all of Odessa. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Sherry was a lady with a heart of gold, kind words for all and the first to help any family member or friend in need. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 10am, Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her honor to Hospice House.
