Socorro Casarez

She married Jose Angel Casarez on January 14, 1949 in Big Spring. Over the years Socorro worked as a cook in a nursing home, she was a seamstress, but her greatest job was being a homemaker for her family.

Socorro is survived by her daughter, Amparo Rodriguez and husband Medardo of Odessa; son, Gabriel Casarez and wife Delores of El Paso, and Arturo Casarez and wife Sulema of Houston; brother, Leonard Garcia; sisters, Esperanza Aleman of Big Spring, Rosa Doporto of Fort Worth, and Connie Torres of San Antonio; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband; son, Angel G. Casarez; parents; sisters, Silvia Alvarez and Priscilla Marquez; granddaughter, Amanda Casarez; and great granddaughter, Cora Casarez.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 1-9 PM at Odessa Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 26th at 1 PM at the Funeral Home followed by burial in the Peaceful Gardens section of Ector County Cemetery.
