Thelbert Henson

Thelbert Henson, of Midland, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2010. He was born on March 16, 1937 to Troy and Tina Henson in Winters, Texas. He was raised and educated in Blackwell, Texas. Thelbert married Kay Riddle on August 15, 1961. They had four children, Kelly, Kim, Kendall and Kevin. He was a self-employed building and roofing contractor. Thelbert loved the outdoors and all wildlife, especially horny toads. He was an avid shuffleboard player. He also loved taking long drives with his grandson Dylan. He is survived by his children, Kelly Murrell. Kim George Henson, Kendell Henson, and Kevin Henson, all of Midland, TX; two brothers, Weldon Henson of Lubbock, TX; and Dennis Henson of Oklahoma. Also surviving are nine grandchildren. The family will received friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Thursday, October 7, 2010 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Weldon Henson, Dennis Henson, Dylan Henson, Guy Riddle, Kendall Henson and Kevin Henson. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
