Vickie Faye Purcell

Vickie Faye Purcell, 51, of Odessa passed away Monday, April 5, 2010 in Odessa. She was born October 20, 1958 in Odessa to Bobby & Neeta Woods. Vickie was raised in Odessa where she graduated from Permian High in 1977.

Vicki was a warm, loving, generous person. She never met a stranger and made every person feel special. She enjoyed water sports, art and music and made beautiful handcrafted crosses. She worked as a decorator assistant. She loved animals and rescued many over her lifetime. Vickie was very compassionate for children in need. She took in several children who became her “Kids” as she helped their families.

Vickie will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her parents, Bobby and Neeta Woods of Del Rio, sons, Joseph Stone of Odessa, Joshua Purcell & wife Patricia of Dallas, IILT Jeremy Purcell & wife Dr. Azul of Ft. Benning, Ga, brother, Terry Woods, of Odessa, sister, Teresa Johnson of Odessa, (2) grand-sons, Lane & Sean Purcell, nephew, Tyler Nutter of Austin, & (2) nieces, Lexi Nutter of Odessa,& Lindsey Woods of Arlington.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with Rev. Griffin Jones officiating.
