William Eldon Blount Sr.

William Eldon Blount Sr., age 89, of Odessa, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Feb. 27, 1926 in Snyder, Texas to his parents, William Teer & Lola Virginia Simmons Blount. He graduated from Odessa High School. He was a veteran in the Army Air Corp from 1944 to 1945.

Eldon was a supervisor for Gulf Oil, working for them for 37 years. He was a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge # 955 where he was a Master Mason. He was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church

He married Oralie (Lee) Conlin on June 27, 2006 in Lovington, New Mexico.

Eldon was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Betty Blount, and a sister, Reba Blount.

He is survived by his wife, Oralie (Lee) Blount of Odessa, his son, William Eldon Blount, Jr, & wife Bonnie of Odessa, his daughters, Virginia Cotton and husband Ted of San Angelo, and Carol Berger and husband Scott of Marble Falls, stepsons, Thomas Overbey of Odessa, and Jason Wayne Overbey & wife Donna Kim of Albany, New York, and 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eldon will lie in state at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home from 9am-9pm on Thursday. Graveside services will be Friday, May 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM, at Ector County Cemetery, with Rev. John McLemore officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled Veterans Association.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
